B.Com (H) and B.Com Courses will give an exposure to the students related to the commerce stream of the course. Students will have a sound knowledge of various aspects of commerce like Accountancy, Business and Corporate Laws, Auditing and Direct & Indirect Taxation etc. The Department intends to provide free guidance and classroom teaching to the B.Com students for advanced courses such as Chartered Accountancy and Company Secretary to enable them to achieve their professional goals.

BBA

Bachelor of Business Administration has been designed to impart quality education in the field of Business Management. Since Business confronts with various environmental issues related to political, legal, technological, societal and global etc. The professionals will be groomed by giving them best exposure related to all these crucial issues. Students will have an opportunity to interact with the professionals of their respective specializations. The main emphasis of this course is the inculcation of managerial skills in the students from the beginning of the curricula. The students will have an exposure to Business World and Management right from the commencement of the Course. 

BHMCT

With the widening scope of tourism, its ancillary supporters have shown a tremendous growth. Hotels and other categories of lodges such as resorts, motels etc require trained professionals who can look after different divisions of a hotel. Food and Beverages, Kitchen, Front Office and House Keepings being the major divisions need people who have sound knowledge of technical knowhow. BHMCT Degree will bridge the gap between the requirements of the industry and supply of trained professionals.

MBA

MBA prepares the managers of tomorrow who will lead the industry or business houses on their own and will attain great heights in the Indian as well as global business arena. Depending on the area of specialization the students will have an exposure related to their respective field. For example, Finance area includes Banking, Insurance, Stock Markets, Mutual Funds etc., Marketing relates to various constituents of marketing right from market research to branding, advertising, sales and after sales services. In view of the vital role of the Human Resource Management in the overall management of a business, the course curriculum has been designed by keeping in mind the exposure that the students need to have in the sphere of recruitment & Selection, Training and Development, Performance Management, Motivation, Wages and Salary Administration, Industrial Repartition, Strategic HRM, Leadership Studies etc. of employees.
*A student pursuing MBA or MHTA course who has successfully completed the first year of the course but discontinues in the Second Year of the course shall be awarded Advanced Diploma Certificate in Management or Advanced Diploma Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Administration, as the case may be. Such a student shall be entitled for lateral entry in the Second Year of the said relevant course in Management and shall be admitted to the Master Degree in the said course provided that such a student seeks readmission in the Second Year of the course as per the norms of the University and completes the Course within the prescribed period of 5 Years.

Course Objective:
The objective of the course is to prepare the professionals who can easily understand the tourism industry and manage the various areas of industry. Travel & Tourism industry is expanding day by day. Students will have an exposure related to industry by a mix blend of educational program & industry interaction. Day after day people want to spend their money on travel. In India the tourism is of various types. In South India & in other parts there are best beaches of the world. In the North we have high mountain peaks. Wild life sanctuaries are also one more aspect of Indian tourism. In addition there are historical monuments to visit for. This is not only in the case of India but tourism is expanding all over the world. If we talk about Himachal Pradesh we have best places which are renowned all over the world .In Himachal we have many untapped & unexplored areas to work for. All in all there is a wide scope in the field of tourism. 

Some other objectives of the course are:

  • To prepare the students for immediate employment and entrepreneurship in the relevant functional area in industry, as against the model that just provides a degree without ensuring employability.
  • To understand, appreciate and practice highest standards of professional, environmental, social and work ethics.
